About Us
Presley's Pawsome Dog Services is fully committed to helping people understand how their energy and body language can impact their dog's behavior, in a positive or negative way. We believe that teaching you how to become a confident leader, through Positive Reinforcement-based training, builds a strong, everlasting bond between you and your dog. Most importantly, PPDS strives to help dogs make the right choices and learn to be calm, while overcoming fear through confidence building exercises.

INSPIRATION FOR PPDS
Many years ago, I was gifted a puppy; he was the cutest pup ever and we named him Ingram! However, I immediately knew something wasn't right with Ingram and called the breeder to return him the next day. To no surprise, the breeder refused which confirmed what I was feeling. This cute, chubby pup grew into a 140 lb. Cane Corso that I cared for, for three years. Our family LOVED this big-headed boy but due to my lack of knowledge and his size, he took over our home and became reactive towards dogs and humans. Ultimately, we called in a trainer to help and I, reluctantly, signed him over to a rescue where he was euthanized a few months later. This is the short version; however, he was never supposed to be put down, rather brought back to me! Telling this story still devastates our family; it is real and happens to dogs every day!
Years later, I began apprenticing under the trainer that helped me, who also happened to be one of the top dog trainers in Central Virginia. I gained great knowledge and experience that grew into a passion for being a dog advocate. Feeling this determination to help those without a voice, I decided to share my passion with others through building PPDS. PPDS is named after our girl, Presley. Presley "ain't nothing but a hound dog"... with a dash of Collie. She was the first dog our family adopted since Ingram and to say I was hesitant is an understatement! Presley struggled with adjusting to her new life but since working with her for 2+ years, she's truly shown us how blessed we are and most importantly, she's taught us to never give up; there's absolutely nothing you can't accomplish through hard work - Time, Patience and Consistency. Unfortunately, there is such a lack of knowledge in the dog community that many people, unknowingly, create/ reinforce inappropriate behaviors in their dogs and well, we end up with more Presleys and Ingrams.
PPDS is always happy to help with your dog's training so don't wait until things get ruff! Remember... It is easier to prevent than it is to correct.
